Sian Simba River Lodge
Zambezi National Park
The upper Zambezi River runs along Zimbabwe’s border with Zambia for approximately 80 kilometres before plunging into a gorge as it falls over Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-tunya). The Zambezi National Park protects a 50-kilometre stretch of the riverbank, covers 56,000 hectares and is where you will find Sian Simba River Lodge. The lodge is in a fantastic location: only one hour from Victoria Falls and surrounded by wildlife with an elevated position on the edge of the Zambezi. Sitting on a wide bend in the river the lodge looks over the river from many directions with guest tents facing the river or surrounding bush.
Activities on offer include morning and sunset river cruises on the Zambezi, game drives in the Zambezi National Park with a healthy population of lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and plains game and a visit to Victoria Falls. A trip to the falls includes a drive along the river road game viewing on the way before walking through the rain forest surrounding the falls and experiencing this natural wonder. Additional activities available in Victoria Falls can be combined with this trip for those looking to experience the falls from the air by helicopter or spend some time on the adrenaline activities conducted in the gorge below the falls.

The tented accommodation ensures you feel comfortable whilst keeping you in touch with the bush and your safari experience. The tents have large, screened windows that ensure the view can be enjoyed from your bed and seating area. Glass fronted doors provide easy access to the tent and additional views. The ensuite bathroom includes an indoor shower with a large window creating an indoor-outdoor feel.
A dedicated family unit combines two tents with a private lounge creating an interlinking room that suits families of all ages or a group wanting a private space. Children are welcome at Sian Simba and being family-owned there is plenty to keep children of all ages active. Families are required to book private activities which enhances the family experience. There is no single supplement for single travellers and the communal feel of the lodge ensures that as a single traveller, you are part of the action around the lodge.
The main lounge area is spacious with multiple seating areas, indoor and outdoor dining and a bar area for easy service. There is a raised deck offering more views of the lovely river. The traditional enclosed boma that sits alongside the dining area is a cosy space to share stories and reflect on the day. A pool is set below the main area with a rim flow view right down the Zambezi. Pool loungers, chairs and tables on the lawn provide plenty of seating in the shade of the large trees around the camp.
